| BOWHUNT AFRICA WITH AN
OLD FRIEND, TINK NATHAN |
Bowhunt East and Southern Africa with the legendary Tink Nathan
as your own personal Professional Hunter and Hunting Outfitter.
Every hunter has dreamed of Africa, teaming with game, her scenic splendor, her exotic
people, and the excitement of the Dark Continent is now yours.
Follow in the tracks of Fred Bear, Howard Hill, Bob Swinehardt, Art Young, and Doctor
Sexton Pope as you hunt for African Lion, reputed King of the Jungle, the ultimate killing
machine, or wait over an impala carcass waiting for the powerful yet stealthy leopard to
come calling, and hope your nerves are steady for Mr. Spots, or try to send your arrow
deep into the huge square lipped White Rhino with his double horns ready to split whatever
gets into his path, or tangle with the hulking wild ox of Africa, the Cape Buffalo, the
bowhunters favorite quarry or perhaps challenge the Largest of all Gods land.
animals, the African Elephant.
Yes, it possible, and the world renowned US Bowhunter
Tink Nathan, can make it happen for you.
After retiring from the deer scent manufacturing business in 1991, Tink came out to settle
in Sunny South Africa and fulfill his life long ambition of becoming a Professional Hunter
& Safari Hunting Outfitter.
Starting out in South Africa, Tink has now branched out into Tanzania, Mozambique,
Zimbabwe and Zambia to find you the game you want. Through his vast network of old
friends, former PHs and new acquaintances, Tink now offers all of East and Southern
Africa as a hunting destination for the serious bowhunter.
Tink does not require much of an introduction to old bowhunters, but newer bowmen might
like to know Tink has hunted Africa hard and often since 1966, when he took his first pair
of African Elephants with a 91# Howatt Hunter recurve bow deep in the jungles of
Mozambique, East Africa.
Tink returned to South Africa to bowhunt in 1976, and established Kliphoek Lodge in 1977,
Africas First Bowhunting Lodge & Bowhunting Ranch, and guided bowhunters there
until the late 1970s. Tink was instrumental in getting bowhunting recognized and
established, and eventually in the 1990s, completely legalized in all of South
Africa. Tink was one of the five founders if the National Bowhunter Education Program
starting in 1971 with the NFAA of the USA, and co-founded the National Bowhunter Education
Foundation.
In 1989 Tink helped open Tanzania to long term bowhunting by filming the epic True Life
Adventure Film BOWHUNTING ELEPHANT AND CAPE BUFFALO IN EAST AFRICA, An exciting 2 1/4-hour
action documentary. While hunting is the famed Selous Game Reserve Tink bagged his 3rd
African Bull Elephant & two old dagga boy Cape Buffalo Bulls that had been expelled
from breeding herds, each with a single broadhead through the heart, shot at close range
and clean one- shot kills on- camera.
This adventure of a lifetime prompted Tink to sell off his holdings and come out to Africa
to bowhunt professionally, and share his tremendous knowledge with fellow archers. Today
when he is not bowhunting with overseas clients, Tink teaches the art and science of
bowhunting in South Africa. The Tink Nathan Bowhunting Institute is would famous, and is
the top bowhunting training college in all Africa.
All archers are welcome at Tink's campfire, and each bowhunt is
unique, with no two being alike. Tink will plan your hunt and will personally guide you
from your airport arrival in Sunny South Africa until you go through the metal detector on
your flight home, with a smile, too.
You may also organize a small group of friends and hunting buddies to come as a group, but
to hunt individually, with each visitor assured of having his own professional hunter who
is also a bowhunter himself. In cases like this Tink will be present and as Outfitter will
organize the hunt, and as a PH, will guide a bowhunter each day.
After a long day under the tropical sun, walking, stalking and lying still in ambush, the
African nights are a magic blend of reality, sore muscles, tired feet and the popping of
ironwood logs snapping and cracking in the twilight as Tink Tells the story of old and
present day Africa. A contemporary of Peter Hathaway Capstick, Tinks collections of
African myths, legends, tall tales and true life adventures thrill the brain and enrich
the soul, and challenge your imagination.. Now you can start the cycle by telling your
adventures and heartbreaks to Tink and your friends around your campfire, in your camp,
where your dreams focus into the reality of today.
With 47 years of hands on bowhunting experience spanning almost five decades and all the
ma)or hunting grounds of the hunting world, no one in all of Africa can provide this high
quality and high level of professionalism to you, the bowhunter.
